After that you are no longer classed as a virgin, you've lost your "V Card".
Right at this very moment, if you asked me why I haven't had sex, I think, my answer would probably be "I haven't found the right person". Truth be told there hasn't even been that person for me yet but something I strongly believe in is: love before sex.
I'm sure the line sex after marriage rings a bell, but that would just take forever. Who knows when or even if I will ever get to that place of "together forever".
I guess for some people it's just about getting it over and done with, or being in the moment, but for most teenagers it's the overwhelming pressure. It's the what do you say to your friends or random people when they ask you about you sex life? How do you feel; left out, undesired, uncool, embarrassed? Confidence has a lot to do with it.
I feel like it's something that you do and can't take back, you either love it or don't.
For a portion of my life I think people referred to sex as "It"
Have you done "it"? or what was "it" like?, you know IT!
It's like "it", has become a synonym of "sex". The obvious stretching of the T at the end of it and a glare to let the person know what your referring to.
It's the norm, no one questions it, well that's a lie.
I've never thought about what my virginity means to me, most likely because I have that crazy feeling love for me doesn't exist but it is important to me that I don't lose my "V card" to a stranger or even by accident.
Hey it happens.
I don't want to regret it.
How old would you have to be for it to be ok to have sex? Now, how old would your child have to be for you to be ok for them to lose their virginity?
I think some children or teens mature faster than others, some have a better understanding, but to answer all of these questions, I don't know! Not a clue because I'm innocent, I don't have that experience so I can't make that decision, as for my own child; we'll see, having the talk comes to mind, kinda just makes me laugh.
Ok, what if you come to that scenario, you don't have a boyfriend or any kind of relationship going on with anyone, but you want to have sex. (let's say it's because you're a certain age and your friends all have) How do you do it? Flirt with girls or guys your own age, go to a party and sleep around?
Religiously, I've never met anyone who has said "because of my religion I do not believe in having sex before marriage" and so that's how they choose to live their own life. In my opinion, I wouldn't know how to believe someone who says that. How would you know they are telling the truth?
What if after 30 years your still waiting for that special someone to propose? Could you really wait that long. Won't you feel like it's something your missing out on?
I am still a virgin, I could say that I am proud to be so but I also haven't had the choice not to be one.
I don't feel left out or want to, more importantly I don't feel pressured but I would like that choice.

Group sex is like swinging, right?
Right, hello Homo-Journal readers. I’m this week’s guest poster. Don’t
expect brilliant literary work from me; I'm tired and ill. It’s also half past
nine on Saturday night (I admit, I forgot I was meant to be writing this :/)
But, as my title probably tells you, I’m not actually focusing on
swinging per se, but on threesomes. I
have, in my life been offered three threesomes (for those of you wondering; 2
FMF, one MFM, and one of the FMF was with two of the regular Homo-Journalists – we’re an incestuous bunch like that). However, at the the times I
was offered these... liaisons, I was a singleton, so it most definitely
wouldn’t count as swinging. Although I’d like to point out that in the vast
majority of my relationships, I did suggest a threesome at some point; if only
to see the guys’ reaction. Every time I suggested it the response was a very
firm no along with "I'm not sharing you." For a long time I didn’t understand
this mindset at all. Sharing is caring right?
WRONG. I love my boyfriend dearly, which is why although I want him to
be happy, I wouldn’t share him with anyone. Not even someone I trust
completely. For example, he recently had a dream where he had a threesome with
myself and Mel; and although he wasn’t touching her (yes, I got all the gory
details, no Mel, I won’t share them with you), and it was only a dream I still
felt a little uncomfortable. The irony of my refusal to share him is that we’re
in an open relationship. Now, before you go jumping on your high horse and
dismiss me as a massive hypocrite; we also live 200 odd miles apart. Neither of
us treat it as an open relationship, we’re both completely committed. It’s
essentially there as a failsafe.
I’ve basically consigned threesomes to a very unlikely possible future
with myself and him. Which isn’t to say it’ll never happen; more that I have
demands which would have to be met. I don’t want to cover all the same ground
as the other bloggers but MY personal set of rules are:
- We would’ve had to have been together for years
- And have complete trust in each other
- And be living far closer to each other; I can’t afford the insecurity from this far away
- I have to have some say in picking the other girl (we’re both straight but I’m more flexible)
- AND most importantly for me... he wouldn’t really be allowed to do anything much with her; he’s attracted to her, I’m not... so it’s not cheating if I do anything to her, as I’m putting on a show for him.
So yes, I was off topic a bit but hey, I consulted James when I asked
for the topic and he said that group sex was allowable :3 so, if you have an
issue with my deviation and lack of humour, blame him xD

Guests Post - Coming Out
I always feel a little bit stupid telling the story of how I came out, because most people usually have some sort of crazy way in which their parents found out, and I sometimes feel like my story isn’t really good enough. I first started realising that I had a thing for guys when I developed a crush on a person that shall remain unnamed until the end of time, and it absolutely confused the hell out of me, seeing as I had never thought about guys in that way. He was also straight and used to remark "I'm perfectly comfortable with my sexuality" - he later turned out to be bisexual, which I found incredibly amusing.
Anyway, as my sexual awareness became more and more potent, I also became increasingly aware of how much people seemed to hate gay people at my school. So instead of just straight up telling people ‘I’m bisexual’ and getting my head kicked in by the ignorant chavs who don’t understand anything unless it’s within their own context of reality, I thought I would tell some of my accepting female friends and ask them to keep it a secret. Which they did… for a while anyway.
During that brief time in which all was well, I felt much better knowing my female friends were actually accepting of me, but I still felt down because I had no idea whether my best friend Tom would be at all accepting. I ended up telling him on a swing just outside the youth club that happened on Fridays in our little village, and although he was a little freaked out, he still seemed to be ok with it in the end. He even asked if I fancied him, a concept I actually find rather hilarious now, but back then I was a little offended. Now I had told everyone really important to me and didn’t care for telling anyone else, but about a month after I told Tom, one of my female friends obviously felt the need to.
Pretty much half the school found out within two or three days and I got questions from just about everyone. ‘Why would you want to be with a guy?’ they would ask, as if I was just walking along one day and decided ‘Hey, do you know what’d be a good idea? If I had a sexual attraction towards guys, it's not like I would get any hate from ignorant assholes or anything’. I also got all the threats from the bullies at my school. They already had plenty of reasons to hate me in the first place, so it wasn't that much of a change. They were all empty threats in the end. The kids that wanted to ‘Bash my head in’, they never did. Although those same kids did throw a pencil at me in class on the odd occasion and exclaim rude remarks about my sexuality. It didn't really make a big difference though, because they would probably just be saying something else about my dress sense, or my hair, as if fashion was their primary concern in life.
Telling my family was now the next step. I would always feel the need to tell my mum coming back from martial arts class. The teacher of the class was actually a lesbian and my mum knew this, so it always made me think that she probably didn’t mind gay people, because she would always talk about the teacher in a really good light. It took me about two or three months working up the courage; I would always be thinking about it in the car. I’d often say ‘Mum?’ and she’d say ‘what?’ in her Canadian accent, and I’d reply with ‘Never mind’ and we’d continue on our journey. Anyway, I told her after a while, and she was fine with it, however she felt the need to give me a week long lecture on aids, which I can tell you was really, really fun. She also seemed to think that maybe I’d ‘Grow out of it’. It then took me about half a year to tell my dad when he picked me up in his car to go to his house, his reaction was pretty much ‘Oh, ok, that’s fine’ which was a big relief, and luckily no aids lecture. I then told my brother about four years after I told my dad… yeah, a long time I know.
You see, my brother had never really spoken about gay people and I had some vague ideas about whether or not my father and mother were ok with it, but for all I knew my brother could have absolutely despised other sexualities. I didn’t even directly tell him, I told his girlfriend who later told him. We never spoke about it, but I knew he knew. Whenever I posted a link on facebook about gay marriage or the pope doing his best to do something stupid, he would show his support. I think it must have also taken me a while because he’s actually a really good friend as well as a brother and I really look up to my brother. His disapproval would have pretty much been one of the most depressing thoughts I could have.
Now I’m completely open about it, so open in fact that I’ll even sign off with my name.

Guest Post - "In Retrospect, this post sucks."
I like to take a no bullshit approach to life, it seems to work. If at any given moment my position strays from the equilibrium (b—e—b where b = bullshit and e = equilibrium) I stop participating. When you realize that something has no effect on your life, it hits you like a brick. Whether it be a person, TV show, book series (not looking at Twilight fans) or an addiction, once you see that time is being wasted by interacting and/or participating, you close the book (seriously, Twilight fans).
This has been the case for me with many things. I used to watch Hollyoaks until one day I brought myself to say wtf and turn off the TV. Nowadays I rarely watch TV, not least because I access current affairs viapaper and Android apps. I took up photography, it’s working out brilliantly. I used to eat a lot of junk food through the course of the week, but after my budget expanded, I changed them to fruit. I like fruit. This particular example is quite specific, as ‘my budget expanding’ means ‘I am finally out of debt’ but you get the idea. A few times I just ran home from work because I got bored of cycling. It is possible you need an impulsive personality with a spice of instability in the family demographic.
However, the point remains unchanged: if you respect yourself and possess common sense, you will ensure you live a better and more fulfilling life. Right? Err…this is what makes me sad. Some people do not seem to have enough brainpower to even understand what common sense is. Another thing, there’s a lot of them.
So this post has now turned from a short boast to a longer boast about my superiority to others in correlation to one of the blog's previous themes (referring to gay-bashing)! Yeah, I’m arrogant like that. I don’t mean to say that you suck per se, but I would probably ignore you.
Do you see, dear reader, what I am doing? This is what gay-bashing or any form of discrimination and bullying feels like. Arrogant people like to maintain their arrogant ego, so consciously or unconsciously they will try to maintain their position. They won’t pick on their equals or anyone stronger - that would not boost their self-esteem and of course there’s a lower chance of success. They pick weak targets as scape goats - or at least seemingly weak targets.
Being honest, I personally do not care about gay-bashing; I've been bullied for having ginger hair – that is far worse as it starts at a much younger age. By the time you realise you’re gay (or others around you) it is most likely that you will have the tools and common sense (there it is again) to respond. If not…read this blog? Having read the posts, there are enough words and phrases that develop into tips and hints to be incorporated into your activities.
I realise my paragraphs do not flow like an A* Sociology essay, but I believe there’s food for thought.
Keep thinking, be the Devil’s Advocate.
Stokysta out.

Guest Slave Sam...
Good afternoon all. I’m Sam, and I have decided,
against all odds, to contribute my thoughts this week on the subject of fetish.
I ought to first make clear that my affiliation with LGBT issues is purely
“political”; much to my mother’s displeasure, I’m straight (or at least, so I
tell my girlfriend) but I have long sympathized with and supported LGBT rights
movements. Which brings me neatly to my chosen topic. When I first thought
about what I might write about fetishes I found myself at a loss, while not
exactly ignorant of the world of sexual deviance, I’m sad to say I’ve hardly
participated myself. Now, I’ve dabbled in some mildly adventurous sexual
practices, from light bondage to semi-public, but I’d be hard pushed to
identify any “fetish” I can call my own. I mean… I have a deeply unhealthy
devotion to pianos and my brother and I enjoy making highly inappropriate
incest jokes (“’Sup bro, looking fit today- I would” again, much to my mother’s
displeasure, most especially when she’s the subject), but I don’t think either
of those really counts.
But then I got it; I do have a fetish, you might not have heard of it, it’s not talked about often but I have a feeling it’s actually fairly common. I am completely mad about vaginal sex. You heard. If you’re not sure what it is I wouldn’t worry, there are some very informative articles and even some video footage on the Internet. It’s quite disgusting, it almost always involves a fair quantity of mucus and sweating; most girls I know completely refuse to indulge it (at least with me at any rate). But what can I say, I just can’t get off without it (ok, that might not be true, but suspend your disbelief so I can make my point), one way or another it has to be involved. Now, I know, I know, you don’t want to hear about my sex life, but that’s sorta my point- no one wants to hear about anyone’s sex life (again, not true, there many people who love hearing about other people’s sex lives, might even qualify as a fetish for some of them, but again bear with me- I’m getting to a point of sorts) because sex lives are almost invariably disgusting (that is, at least, if they’re any good).
In the course of the LGBT rights movement a great many “arguments” have been made by the bigoted masses as to why this group of people are and that this kind of love is unacceptable, immoral and, most importantly, gay. But, however clever, theological or morally authoritarian these arguments appear to some, ultimately they all boil down to a simple and pathetic truth- bigots find gay sex, gay love and most importantly, gays, disgusting (oh and don’t forget transvestites and transsexuals, those guys/gals clearly give ‘em the creeps too). Because of this, they sought to ostracize and oppress gays at every turn. In truth, the same thing happens (sadly with a much larger crowd of disgustees) with people who engage in fetishes of some kind or another. The world finds their given fetish so unspeakable, so incomprehensible, so damned unpleasant to think about that we deliberately make outcasts of them. Now mostly, this takes place on a purely social level- we are openly disparaging about them in various media, we strongly discourage them from being open or honest about their sexual practices and if they fail to comply or kick up a fuss, we quickly outcast them. However, there are some fetishes to which there is a legislative barrier in this country.
In 1993 there was a legal case in which a group of very serious sado-masochists who were tried and convicted of assault on one another, despite all the activities having been consensual and private (the groups actions were discovered by accident by the local police force) because in this country, you cannot consent to actual or grievous bodily harm (except in boxing… an exception made because we… like boxing… but sex is dirty). All the arguments made to uphold this decision fall flat on their face when looked at with a lucid mind, revealing (much to everyone’s shock and horror I’m sure) that the real reason these convictions were made was because people found their actions disgusting. Heck, I make jokes about incest (“Hey mum, looking pretty fit today- I would”) and I found them disgusting! But my finding them disgusting doesn’t mean these people shouldn’t be allowed to indulge any sexual fantasy involving consenting, able minded adults. My point is this, just because more people share my fetish for vaginal sex, doesn’t mean I should have the right to practice my fetish, while those with more outlandish fetishes are forced into, at best, secrecy and, at worst, repression.
It is my hope that with this contribution I will ensure that I am asked to write for this blog again, fingers crossed, or file a restraining order either one.

The Cross vs. The Queer
When faced with the opportunity of writing a post for Homo-Journal I thought: ‘Wtf would I write about
when I can’t even come up with posts for my own blog?’ Well I’ve decided to
take a break from my laziness and write about something close to my heart and one of the greatest subjects
ever to grace this precious earth; can you be gay and be a Christian?
This dilemma became apparent to me in secondary school, when I met someone who inspired me
hugely. She was funny, bubbly and
beautiful, and she really knew how to make people smile (or cry depending on her
mood). But I questioned myself: how could I be attracted to a girl but not rock
the boat that is my Christian upbringing? I go to church, I read the bible and
I pray; but all the time I was doing these things, I felt pure guilt because it is said in the bible that “If a man also lies with mankind, as he
lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely
be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."
Well then I thought fuck it. I had
to choose between my feelings or my religion. Some would advise me ‘scrap the
religion and just get on with it’. Others would say ‘God is going to condemn
you because you like breasts’. But when you know something is real, the fact that others
can’t see it themselves doesn’t excuse ignoring it. I weighed my heart
and soul and came to the conclusion that the Bible is a text written 2000
years ago by men (I promised myself I would lock up the feminist within for my
own blog, but she broke free) and that from my own experiences of God, and not
religion, I have steered towards His omnipotence and benevolence.
Summary: So although I am
straight, I think that the female form
is one of the most beautiful and intricate forms that God has ever created, and
I compare women’s bodies to flowers; never the same yet special in their own
way. Does that make me gay? I don’t think so. I think that death metal is just noise
but that doesn’t make me a hater. What’s important is that I know I am a 17 year
old mixed race girl who is loved by God and loves him back regardless of my
sexual preferences. Since coming to this
conclusion, I feel that I need to show some love to all those Confused
Christians out there.
A little tip: If you're a Christian
and you are struggling with your sexuality. Talk to God. Not your mum, or your
youth leader or your friends. Only God can show you truth. With regards to the Bible,
take it like a shot: with a pinch of salt.

Quantum homo mechanics? - Our Guest Slave Jake
I’m Jake. This is the first time I’ve ever really talked about the existence or non-existence of my homo or “bi-ness” to anyone other than my hamster Sid.
Sid agrees with me that if I had lead a different life (or been present in a different reality) I may never had fallen in love with the big arms and the hairy chests. Still, it took me many girlfriends to realise the female scorn for masculine emotional literacy wasn’t really what I needed.
I, among with some of the other bi-sexuals, have come to understand the bizarre fascination and hatred that those ‘of heterosexual origin’ have for us ‘strange breed’. It stands to reason that the way the majority feels must be the correct way of feeling, and that anything other is subnormal.
There is not much I can say to that argument above. However if I enjoy playing with men and having men play with me, then I don’t mind being a subcategory! I can just feel happy that while every homophobic man shudders at the thought, I can turn it into pleasure.
Easter. My parents love it. My dad especially loves commenting on the sub-human nature of homosexuals. I’m still saving this homo bombshell from his only son for another argument... for a time when I leave home.
I can’t say it doesn’t get to me - that I haven’t told my family - I only really tell my friends if they ask. Many do not think that I am even remotely homo, and if I am then I must hide it really well. I hide because I have to, not because I want to.
Still counting the seconds to the revolution brothers and sisters!
Keep on loving.

A guest post from lav
Finally, I have a chance to introduce myself, my name is Lavender. Eli may have mentioned having an alter ego at 13, well Lavender was mine. I'm not yet 18, but I'm definitely getting closer.
I honestly didn't think I'd have a chance to blog on the all mighty homo-journal though I confess I've been here all along.
I'm the stand in for anyone who may have been abducted for the day. Don't worry I don't count on it happening very often. It deffo seems like Cretzal’s been kidnapped :o I tried to write this in advance to the theme of a particular week but I didn’t and now I just feel pressured in saying something! Anything as long as it has the words stereotypes in it. What would the world be like without the word stereotype, stereotyping, or stereotyped! It can’t be. A new word will take its place. Besides I think you could look at it from any direction everyone will have a different opinion. Most are glad and wouldn’t like to deny who they’ve been “classified” as; they want a title, a group they think they belong to, and people they have things in common with. I think I’d be classified as half normal, in that stage where I can be majorly spazzy and then just a tad fantabby tastic, spaztastic ;) But then if I were to be compared with other people then I’d be the NORMAL one. NORMAL- wouldn’t you rather be weird, someone with a personality, classified as “unique!”
There’s also that huge bad gut feeling most people get when they think about the word stereotyping. The people who have been put into a category and hate it, get bullied, being called names. It’s one of the worst attract to being stereotyped. Do you really get a choice? Or even a say on what other people think or say about you. I guess I would tell those people: someone wise once told me that if you’re proud of whom you are, then what other people stereotype you as should keep you standing, head held high, because they have just described that person you’re happy to be, that person you’re proud of. Be yourself, because there is a 99.999...% chance that someone out in that big blue and green planet is just like you and loves who you are. If you can’t imagine it, then think bigger, the universe needs someone like you. Someone they can finally classify as UNIQUE! (For real this time).
That’s the END of this stereotypical week. Did you just see what I did there? Oh I forgot to mention that I'm not very funny on paper, soz... I think I got through my first post with a reasonably good amount of stuff- it was a bit like being on TV, except the going back and being able to change what you say... although I can’t think of what I could have said if I erase what I have said. Hmmm, the conundrum of having said utter rubbish.
I didn’t mention my sexuality, urm...well you can guess! I’ll just give you my opinion at the end of the week.
